Way to Relate

Really Mit? Really?  Way to get our votes!

“I understand how difficult it can be for an African-American in today’s
society. In fact, I can relate to black people very well indeed. My
ancestors once owned slaves, and it is in my lineage to work closely
with the black community. However, just because they were freed over a
century ago doesn’t mean they can now be freeloaders. They need to be
told to work hard, and the incentives just aren’t there for them
anymore. When I’m president I plan to work closely with the black
community to bring a sense of pride and work ethic back into view
for them”.

A Closed Hand Can’t Receive

Next time a homeless person approaches you for a dollar or some spare change consider opening your heart and your wallet to help someone in need.  For a long time my philosophy has been that anyone who finds him/herself on the street ‘begging’ for money, probably needs what I can spare more than me, but I like so many others found myself willing to help here and there, but most of the time holding tight to my wallet and pocket as if sparing a dollar or some change would break the bank.  Often times, we (yes me included) have justified not given by saying “how do I know if the person is going to use the money for good”….”I much rather buy them a meal than give them money, because what if they use it to buy liquor or drugs”…or worst yet, “what if they are not really in need.”  The fact of the matter is it’s not your business what they do with the money.  That persons has to live with with his/her decisions (good or bad), not you.  Also, the thought that someone may be out there posing as homeless just to swindle others is a little ridiculous.  Yes, I guess anything is possible, but honestly anyone willing to go this far to collect a few pennies, quarters or even dollars is considerably more desperate than I am.  Recently, I’ve been putting ”my money where my mouth is” (so to speak) putting my philosophy into practice (regularly) and what I’ve discovered is not only does it feel really good to just be able to share my blessings with others, but that I also open myself up to receiving more…and I have.  I’ve received blessings, even in the form of money…when I’ve least expected it. So, the next time someone in need approaches you for help, do what you can, without reservation.  You do your part just by giving and trust me the universe recognizes your good deed, and more importantly the spirit behind it. Keep in mind that you don’t give for the sake of receiving…waiting for something in return… you do so unselfishly, but when you are willing to give from a good place you also make way for the possibility of receiving.  Also, consider the principle of paying it forward.  The next time someone does a good deed for you, consider paying it forward to the next person, instead of paying it back.  At this time in my life as an “unemployed, self-employed” B.U.H. living in California (one of the most expensive states in the USA) I’m so grateful to have shelter, a warm place to sleep, food to eat etc. and instead of trying to pay back everything to those who are helping me out tremendously during this period of discovery and transition, I just pay it forward to someone else.

Practice the art of giving-somehow, someway- in everyday of your life and prepare yourself for the abundance of goodness that you will receive.  It’s good karma.  And after all what may be spare change or a minute to spare for you, may mean a world of difference to someone else.

Random thoughts on a Thursday afternoon.  The life of the “unemployed, self-employed” B.U.H. The birth of a new chapter.

Throw caution to the wind.

Walk by faith and not by sight.

Be the creator of your own destiny.

Become the person that you admire the most.

Live to inspire yourself and you will in turn inspire others.

Give unselfishly.

Accept graciously.

And you say we live in a post-racial Amerika.  Get real!  Racism is alive and well.

All Hoodies Up!!!

Freedom!!!

I am now officially unemployed, self-employed.  Kinda scary (well not so much… not yet anyway, lol), but definitely looking forward to the adventure.  Sometimes you just gotta take that leap (of faith).  Trusting the reward will be worth the risk.

Here we go!!!

Considering relocation to the Bay Area (specifically)…and Cali in general.  Planning to head West soon.  Let’s see what the universe has in store!  Exciting… yet somewhat scary proposition.  What better time and way to find out what I’m really made of.  Be fearless,  be courageous, be unstoppable!  I know the gods got my back :)!
